Guide 1: Erase Fake BSOD Popup Homepage Manually

Step 1. Stop Fake BSOD Popup running processes in Windows Task Manager first.

( Methods to open Task Manager: Press CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC or Press the Start button->click on the Run option->Type in taskmgr and press OK.)

Step 2. Uninstall Fake BSOD Popup from Control Panel.

Windows 8

  1. Right click “Start” button or lower left corner of your desktop to open the Menu.
  2. Select “Control Panel” option in the menu.
  3. Click “Uninstall a Program” to open the list of installed programs.

Windows 7 or Vista

  1. Click on “Start” button placed at the bottom left corner.

Step 3. Remove Fake BSOD Popup from your browser.

  • Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Manager Add-on > Tools and Extensions> search for Fake BSOD Popup > click Disable

  • Go to Internet Option from the top right menu > General > Home page> delete ransom URL and type your default homepage URL, for example And then navigate to Browser History, click Delete…, and then click OK.

Google Chrome

  • Launch up Google Chrome> click Tools on top right menu> click Extension> search for Fake BSOD Popup> click trash bin


Select Settings > On Startup > Set pages > Change/remove the URL of the unreliable search tool and click OK.

Move to Appearance and select Show Home button. Click Change andremove Fake BSOD Popup. And then go to Manage search engines.., make Google as default search engine.

Open Firefox, navigate to browser menu in the top right, and select Add-ons > Extension > remove Fake BSOD Popup.
